Creative Health Technologies: Exploring Music, Movement and Human-Centred Interaction in Dementia Care
Summary
This project explores how creative technologies combining music, movement and interaction can contribute to wellbeing, engagement and participation among people living with dementia. It uses Muzziball — an interactive sensory ball combining music, movement and sensory stimulation, which has recently entered implementation through a four-year framework agreement with Stavanger municipality — as a case study for investigating human-centred approaches to technology development in healthcare. Activities include a workshop bringing together researchers, artists, healthcare professionals and technology developers from the MishMash network, analysis of experiences from existing pilot activities, exploration of AI-supported personalisation and adaptive interaction, and a roadmap for future collaborative research and funding applications.
