Workshop: Hybrid AI Film Production — New Workflows, Artistic Processes and Methods of Collaboration
Summary
A three-day workshop in October 2026 for film and TV industry professionals on hybrid AI film production, organised by the Faculty of Film, TV and Games at the University of Inland Norway in collaboration with MishMash partner Reimagine. In hybrid AI film production, sets and costumes are replaced by AI-generated elements, requiring the production designer, cinematographer, director, producer and crew to adapt to new workflows, methods of collaboration, and new roles such as the AI lead. Through hands-on exploration, discussion and reflection with a maximum of 15 participants, filmmakers use their artistic skills and experience to work on a hybrid AI film production while maintaining artistic integrity and control. An open, streamed talk on creative use of AI in film accompanies the workshop, which also serves as a pilot for a larger module-based continuing education course.
