Forskningsopphold ved Senter for samiske studier i forbindelse med PhD-prosjektet Sound Heritage
Summary
A six-to-eight-week research stay at the Centre for Sami Studies at UiT The Arctic University of Norway, connected to Åse Áva Fredheim’s PhD project Sound Heritage on luohti/joik. The stay combines archival work in the joik archives at Tromsø Museum, qualitative interviews with Sámi artists, musicians, producers and cultural workers in Troms, and fieldwork with sound recording and documentation in Olmmáivággi/Manndalen. The project explores multisensory listening methods and Indigenous perspectives in music production, balancing decolonisation with the further development of Sámi cultural expressions. The material forms the basis for scholarly articles and an album recording planned for spring 2027.
