Åse Áva Fredheim is a vocalist, songwriter, and producer, and a PhD research fellow at the Department of Popular Music, University of Agder. Her doctoral project Sound Heritage explores the intersection of musicology and Indigenous knowledge through both an artistic and academic approach, focusing on field recording practices, Sámi vocal traditions such as luohti/joik, and listening. She holds a master's degree from the University of Oslo.
